No matter what animal you hunt - break the humerus bone and cut the upper chambers of the heart. Lung shots do not work on Africa animals - and in many animals like the kudu and wildebeest there is in any case no lung behind the shoulder.
This Cape buffalo was taken in Zimbabwe a few weeks ago with a .458 Win Mag. The 13th shot was from the PH's .458 Lott putting a 500 gr Peregrine VRG-2 solid through the heart.
