Be it rifle scopes, iron sights (express and aperture), or single dot "Aimpoint" optics, every hunter / target shooter seems to have his preferences.

Here is an example (still not perfect but close) to what I consider a true ghost ring front sight match up. I think this is called a globe sight. It would be paired with a large ghost ring full moon rear sight. The one I would choose would have a slightly larger inside ring. In my opinion the utility of the ghost ring rear with a post front sight is a loss of intended function, or a "compromise" for a full peep. Here is a globe you can put on most any rifle. https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/000153090115/17aml-front-target-globe-sight-for-black-powder-rifles
I do not want to move it - shall just copy the story about the synthetic stocked rifle there as it is a unique arrangement. I think I want to do an article about some of your rifles for the magazine I write for. For that article high resolution, nice photos will be needed.
This story needs to go under the "Suitable Synthetics" Blog, Michael. If ever there was a unique 7x57 it is this one.
I gave the receiver full assembly and stock to my friend the Swamp Scott, who had a shooting range and gun smith machinery and bluing shop right in the middle of a swamp In Lafitte Louisiana (Yes very near the Pirate Lafitte's stronghold in the swamp South of New Orleans). The Pirate descendants live there until this day. They are a proud and different sort.
Anyway, Swamp Scott hardened the receiver, bolt, extractor etc. Then he built that rifle for me with a Chrome Molly barrel. The chamber is tight and the action is trued. It was powder coated at a later date after Swamp Scott drowned, rescuing his incredibly beautiful, pirate blooded niece, from a hurricane caused rip tide…
Excellent arrangement on that 7x57, Michael. What a fantastic performer on all Africa game, with no fanfare of big bang, just a one shot killer day in and day out like the 30-06. In fact its on-game performance with a 170 gr bullet is exactly as the 30-06 with 180 gr.
That is a fast ghost ring sight. Once one is used to that wide diameter aperture and see the smaller ghost ring inside it is a good way to shoot bushveld game like kudu or wildebeest out to 120 yards.
I wonder if that is the only 1893 with a composite stock!
It matters not to me which type or make or aperture sight I prefer. From a Krag Rice to a Swede GF, or Armstrong, or Lyman, or Redfield. My overall preference is the #4 Lee Enfield dual range flip sight. Ghost rings dont work for me.
